I never got to see many Conrail GP30s during their heyday - they bounced in and out of service through the years. Fortunately, the RR Museum of PA has preserved 2233 at Strasburg. This was a former PRR engine, and was retired by 1998.
Over 200 pages detailing over a century and a half of railroad development, through official US Government patent images of steam, diesel, and turbine locomotives. Most patents have at least a three-view of the particular locomotive, while many go into even further detail. Many patents are for designs that were actually built, while others are recognizable as leading to production locomotives.There are also some speculative "what-if" type designs listed.
