John Bull Locomotive

One of the real gems of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania's collection is a replica of the "John Bull" locomotive - this was built by the PRR in the late 1930s, as by that time the original was judged to valuable to leave the Smithsonian. The replica fell into disrepair during the Penn Central years (what didn't?) but underwent a restoration by the museum, and is the only operable steam locomotive in the facility, and does occasionally get around the museum's yard and across the street at the Strasburg RR.
